Nuclear talks in Vienna: Iran condemns Russian demand

A senior Iranian official criticized the new demands that Russia has made conditional on its agreement to return to the 2015 Vienna agreement on the fate of Iranian nuclear developments.

On March 5, Russia demanded that the United States provide written guarantees that Western sanctions imposed on Russia would not impede the development of Russian-Iranian trade and economic relations. Otherwise, Moscow will refuse to support the agreement. “The Russians put forward these conditions two days ago. Everyone understands that by doing so Russia wants to protect its interests in other places. Such an approach to the Vienna talks cannot be called constructive,” an official representative of the ayatollah regime said.
