Former inspector of the Criminal Police Directorate, Milan Dumanović, stated today that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the Minister, Aleksandar Vulin, are not sincere in their alleged intention to purge the top of the Ministry of the Interior of police officers who cooperate with criminal groups.

Dumanovic told the Beta agency that the MUP does not insist on professionalism, but on the loyalty of police officers to the top of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).

“Personnel loyal to Nebojsa Stefanovic and Dijana Hrkalovic will probably be expelled from the Ministry of the Interior, and they will be replaced, not by professionals, but again by police officers who are obedient and loyal to the current regime. Loyalty to the regime is more important in the Ministry of the Interior “when the SNS took over the police with the arrival of Stefanovic as a minister,” said the former inspector.

He stated that he and his colleague Mladen Trbović were arrested and expelled from the Ministry of the Interior because in 2016 they pointed out the disrespect of the law and the connection of the top police with criminal groups.

“My colleague Trbović and I first filed a criminal complaint for trading in influence and abuse of office against Nebojša Stefanović, Dijana Hrkalović, Goran Nešić, Tomislav Radovanović and Dejan Milenković Bagzi. We stated that they took police officers to Potočari on a secret mission without IDs and weapons. “, said Dumanovic.

He emphasized that in 2016, Inspector Trbović informed the then Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić in writing that a parallel service headed by Diana Hrkalović had been formed at the top of the Serbian police.

“So, five years ago, Vučić was acquainted in detail with the connection between the top police and criminal groups, but he never reacted to Trbović’s report,” said Dumanović.

Instead of checking our knowledge, the former inspector added, Trbović and I were arrested on December 31, 2016.

“They suspended us while we were in custody, and criminal proceedings were initiated against us, because we allegedly revealed an official secret, which continues to this day,” he said.

He stated that the Administrative Court had ruled in his and Trbović’s favor on two occasions, but that they had not been reinstated.

“Currently, Mladen Trbović is being treated as a suspended member of the police, and I am still conducting court proceedings due to the second dismissal,” Dumanović explained.

According to him, there is no doubt that he and Trbović were expelled from the police because they informed Prime Minister Vučić about criminal actions at the top of the police.

“Even then, Trbović and I knew that this criminal group at the top of the police was led by Aleksandar Vučić, and we just wanted to tell him openly that we knew that. It is paradoxical that Vučić is now, addressing the public, telling what was presented to him with evidence five years ago, and that is that Stefanović, Hrkalović and Goran Papić established a parallel structure in the Ministry of the Interior, “Dumanović emphasized.

He stated that Inspector Dejan Jović suffered a similar fate, who arrested Veljko Belivuk and Marko Miljković for the murder of karate player Vlastimir Milošević, and he also worked on the case of the murder of lawyer Mišo Ognjanović.

“A chase was launched against Jovic in all regime tabloids, and Vucic did not want to protect him when he was fired from the police for no reason. Vucic is defending Jovic now that the man has died,” Dumanovic said.

When asked by Beta, whether police officers can do their job honestly and professionally today, Dumanović said that police officers can only do what they are ordered to do from the top of the Serbian Progressive Party.

“The police are limited, and they only do what suits the regime at the moment. And because of that, unfortunately, the police cannot completely expel the investigations concerning the criminal acts with which Aleksandar and Andrej Vučić are connected,” Dumanović pointed out.

He added that the police are managed from the SNS headquarters, “which is confirmed by Minister Vulin’s statements that the fight against organized crime was started by Aleksandar Vučić.“

“Vulin also told us that Veljko Belivuk’s criminal group would not have been arrested if it had not been decided by Vucic. Instead of being decided by the prosecution and the police, the president of the SNS decides, which is inadmissible in any normal state,” said Dumanovic. –

When asked by Beta if he expects to be returned to the MUP now, because it turned out that he and Trbović were right, Dumanović said that he did not expect anything from this government, but that he would surely return to the police soon.
