Turkish Foreign Minister Muvlut Cavusoglu held a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan on the sidelines of the Anatolian Diplomatic Forum. The subject of negotiations was the normalization of relations.
This is the first talks between politicians of this rank since 2009. “The dialogue was productive and constructive. We are trying to achieve peace and stability,” the Turkish minister said.
There are no diplomatic relations between the two states. The peace treaty, signed in 2009, remained unratified, and during the Second Karabakh War, which ended in the defeat of Armenia, Turkey provided strong support to Azerbaijan.
