The United States guaranteed that relations between Russia and Iran will be exempt from sanctions

According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the United States has provided written guarantees that the recent anti-Russian sanctions will not apply to cooperation between Russia and Iran.

“We have received written guarantees. They are included in the text of the agreement itself on the resumption of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program,” Lavrov said at the end of negotiations with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian.

The minister’s words contradict the previous statement of all participants in the negotiations on the return of the United States and Iran to the Vienna agreements of 2015. The ayatollah regime also opposed linking the sanctions and the Russian signature on the agreement.

On March 14, the official representative of the US State Department, Ned Price, also said that sanctions should not be linked to the signing of the treaty. According to him, the agreement is designed to deprive Iran of the opportunity to become the owner of nuclear weapons, and its signing is a common interest.
