The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the morning of March 19 published new data on the losses of the Russian army during the hostilities on Ukrainian territory (since February 24).
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the losses of the Russian army are as follows:

armored personnel carriers – 1470

air defense systems – 44
multiple launch rocket systems – 72

On the evening of March 2, the Russian Defense Ministry published its version of the casualty data, saying that 498 Russian servicemen were killed and 1,597 were injured in the first week of the “special operation” on the territory of Ukraine. Nothing was said about the losses of military equipment by the Russian side. Since then, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has not published data on losses.
On March 12, during a press conference for foreign journalists, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky for the first time named the number of Ukrainian military dead: 1,300 people. According to the UN, about 700 Ukrainian civilians have died since February 24. The Ukrainian authorities say that thousands of Ukrainian civilians have died (most of the victims are in Mariupol).
The Russian authorities claim that the Ukrainian side is spreading false information about the losses of Russian troops. But international observers say that the information about the thousands of losses of Russian army personnel in Ukraine is apparently correct. At the same time, Western experts question the accuracy of the data on the losses of the Russian army provided by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
