UN: 4.5 million people have fled Ukraine since the beginning of the war

The number of refugees from Ukraine has risen to 4.5 million since the beginning of the war, the United Nations announced today.

About 2.6 million people fled to Poland, and more than 686,000 to Romania.

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, which monitors the number of refugees, believes that a large number of people have already been deployed in Europe from the first countries they entered.

Russia launched a military invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
