The price of shares of Georgian companies on the London Stock Exchange began to decrease

Against the backdrop of the adoption of the controversial law on “foreign agents”, the price of shares of Georgian companies on the London Stock Exchange began to decrease. Today, as of 15:30 Tbilisi time, the rate of decline in the value of shares of Bank of Georgia group exceeds 16 percent, TBC Bank Group – 15 percent, Georgia Capital – about 8 percent.

“Just in the last two weeks, the capitalization of Bank of Georgia has decreased by 1.5 billion GEL. “Can you imagine what will happen if sanctions are imposed, or American and European aid is frozen?” – the Georgian service of “Freedom” quotes the comment of Giorgi Rukhadze, head of the Center for Strategic Analysis.

The national currency of Georgia also faced problems. During yesterday’s buying and selling, the lari depreciated by about 5 points against the dollar and the euro.
