Speaking at an event dedicated to the 107th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Uruguayan Foreign Minister Francisco Butillo condemned and rejected his Turkish counterpart Mlut Cavusoglu’s “gray wolves” sign addressed to Armenians.
In his speech at the event held in Armenia Square in Montevideo, the Minister reaffirmed the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Uruguay.
The Foreign Minister said that his country is a country of memory and principles, which protects peace, therefore all actions that create physical or moral violence and hatred are condemned and rejected.
Çavuşo ։lu responded to the protest of the Armenians gathered in front of the Turkish Embassy in Montevideo on Saturday with a sign of “gray steps”. The Uruguayan Foreign Minister summoned the Turkish ambassador to the ministry to explain the sign.
