Russia – Ukraine War – Blinken and Austin Visit Kiev: “Russia Fails”

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin are leading a delegation from the United States that landed in Kiev today (Monday) amid a Russian invasion of Ukraine. The two met with President Zlansky and senior government officials.

Blinken said the sights on the streets of the Ukrainian capital are evidence that the battle for Kyiv has already been decided: “Independent Ukraine will stay here much longer than Putin’s Russia.” Blinken added that Russia has failed in all the goals it has set for itself in the fighting.

Austin said that life in Kiev seems to be beginning to get back on track, adding that the purpose of his meetings with Ukrainian officials was to create conditions that would allow the victory in the war as well as the rebuilding of the country later on.
