At least five people have been killed and 18 more injured in a Russian attack on a train station in the Vinnitsa region of eastern Ukraine. A total of five train stations have been attacked this Monday.
The Vinnitsa Prosecutor’s Office has reported that on Monday morning several Russian rockets hit transport infrastructure near the towns of Zhmerinka and Zoizatin.
“The investigation, prosecutors and other official services are working on the spot. Five people have died and 18 have been injured as a result of an enemy bombardment.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has indicated that Russia seeks to disrupt military supplies and aid from foreign countries with this type of attack.
kyiv has claimed that Russia is using missiles and bombs, including using strategic bombers, ships and submarines, to destroy the supply lines of the Ukrainian forces.
“Russian troops continue to systematically destroy the railway infrastructure,” the president of Ukraine’s national railway company, Olexandr Kamishin, said in a message posted on his Telegram account. “This morning, within an hour, five railway stations in central and western Ukraine have been attacked,” he said.
He also stressed that “at least 16 passenger trains have been stopped” because of these attacks, without Russia having ruled for now on its responsibility or the objective of the bombings.
