Turkey closes Muslim Brotherhood TV channel Mekameleen amid rapprochement with Egypt

The Mekameleen TV channel, owned by the Muslim Brotherhood movement, has announced the cessation of broadcasting from Turkey, from where it has been operating for the past eight years.

The channel’s management on its official website thanked the Turkish authorities “for their hospitality in an emergency.”

According to Arab and Turkish media, the reason for closing the TV channel was the rapprochement between Turkey and Egypt, whose authorities were the object of constant criticism of the TV channel.
