Alisa Kockar (DS): A hostile and dangerous environment has been created for journalists in Serbia

A spokeswoman for the Democratic Party (DS), Alisa Kockar, said on the occasion of today’s Media Freedom Day that “the regime of Aleksandar Vučić has perfected methods for discrediting the media and concealing the truth”, so that “no journalist is safe anymore”.

“A hostile and dangerous environment has been created for journalists working in the interests of citizens,” Kockar said, adding: “pressure, intimidation, dragging through tabloid mud, threats, physical attacks, endangered security of journalists and their families, death threats, abuse of law in the form of lawsuits and legal proceedings aimed at pressuring the critical approach of independent media and burdening them with high costs “.

She added that the murders of journalists and the failure to bring those responsible to justice, impunity or mild punishment, have created a stimulating climate in which the perpetrators of attacks and intimidation feel comfortable, which suggests that such behavior is acceptable.

A DS spokeswoman pointed out that “as long as Serbia is led by Aleksandar Vučić, the implementer of ‘Seselj’s’ Law on Information, the Minister of Information in the government of Mirko Marjanović, Serbia will bawl in the media and every other darkness.”

She added that that is why the task of the DS is to insist that media representatives do their job freely and with dignity.

“Citizens of Serbia should hear that the Serbian Progressive Party is only a political wing of organized crime, to know about Stanika Gligorijevic, Cvijan, Obradovic and Ivanovic, and not just what Pink, Happy and RTS serve them as reality in Serbia. , “said Democratic Party spokeswoman Alisa Kockar.
