King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia underwent a colonoscopy at the King Faisal Hospital in Jeddah. According to the official news agency SPA, the results did not reveal any pathology, but the doctors decided to leave the monarch in the hospital for a few days to rest. The hospitalization of the 86-year-old monarch “for examination” was first reported on May 8. At the same time, it was not reported about any examination in question, nor how long he would spend in the hospital. The hope was expressed that Allah would preserve the health of the guardian of the two shrines of Islam.

The king’s health leaves much to be desired. In 2020, he had his gallbladder removed. He also survived a stroke. Most of the duties of the head of state are performed by his son, Prince Muhammad bin Salman, heir to the throne of the kingdom.
