Shock in the Zelenskiy administration: the foreign minister and other senior officials resigned
Dmytro Kolbe, the foreign minister of Ukraine, announced this morning (Wednesday) his resignation from the position – which he held since March 2020. Kolbe joins the ranks of other senior officials in the government of President Volodymyr Zelensky who announced their resignations in recent days, including the minister of justice and the deputy prime minister.Kolba did not present a reason for his decision to leave the position, but it comes against the background of Zelensky’s announcement that he was preparing for a wave of shocks and changes in his government. In recent days, the president of Ukraine said that “we must act to strengthen our government”. More than two and a half years into the war with Russia, and with no elections on the horizon due to the state of emergency in the country, the Ukrainian president wants to present clear actions to ensure continued public support for him.

Dmytro Kolba was one of the most prominent and senior voices in the Ukrainian government, and played an important role in the Ukrainian campaign to obtain arms and Western aid. In recent times, he has engaged quite a bit in negotiations for the possibility of negotiations to end the war, and among other things, he visited China and was the first Ukrainian official to visit China since the beginning of the war. Kolba also worked hard to expand and increase Ukraine’s air defense system.

“More than half of the government will undergo changes,” said David Arkamiya, the chairman of the coalition in Ukraine. He added that tomorrow President Zelensky is expected to present replacements to the top officials who have finished their duties. “Autumn is going to be a particularly important time for Ukraine,” Zelensky said yesterday, ” And state institutions must be prepared and set up to achieve the best results for Ukraine.”

In recent days, it seems that Russia has greatly increased its airstrikes against cities and targets deep in Ukraine, possibly in response to the Ukrainian invasion of the Kursk region. At least seven people, including three children, were killed tonight in a Russian bombing in the city of Lviv in the west of the country, near the border with Poland. Ukraine’s air force announced that it shot down seven of 13 missiles and 22 of 29 Iranian drones launched by the Russian military.

Yesterday, an interview of Zelensky was published on the NBC network in which he promised that the Ukrainian army intends to continue to hold the territory it occupied in the Kursk region of Russia, and has no intention of evacuating from the area. He said that he is not ready to reveal whether the Ukrainian forces intend to take action to occupy additional territory in Russian territory.
