In Munich, emergency services have been called out en masse to a shooting near a Nazi documentation center, local police reported.
Residents and passers-by reported a shooting and shots on social media around 9 a.m. on Thursday morning. The police have since confirmed that “a major operation is currently taking place in the area of Briennerstrasse and Karolinenplatz.” This is a location in the heart of the German city.
The emergency services are now on site en masse, the police said on Twitter. “Many emergency services are on their way to the location in the vicinity of the NS Documentation Center (a study center and museum about Nazism, ed.). To ensure they can work unhindered, we ask that you avoid this area in large spaces.”
