The Israeli Ministry of Health has notified 11,210 new cases of COVID.19 this Friday, an unprecedented figure since the start of the pandemic and that raises the provisional balance above 1.1 million in one of the countries that started the fastest to vaccinate its population.
Specifically, the authorities have registered to date 1,101,406 of positives, of which 7,122 correspond to patients already deceased. The number of active cases is close to 92,000, while 667 patients remain in serious condition, according to data from the Ministry.
Israel, which has relied its entire vaccination campaign on the drug developed by Pfizer and BioNTEch, was the first country in the world to administer a third dose. The complete guideline reaches almost 5.5 million people – six out of every ten citizens – while almost 2.5 million have already received the booster injection, already enabled for citizens over 12 years of age.
