The new head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret, handed over credentials to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, in Belgrade today, thus officially taking office.

Joffre succeeded Ambassador Sam Fabricio as the head of the EU Delegation in Belgrade.

Joffre is coming to Belgrade from the position of the head of the EU Delegation to Israel.

During his long career, he was the head of the European External Action Service (EEAS) for Democracy and Election Observation, as well as an advisor for North Africa and the Middle East.

He also served in the EU delegation in New York, and before joining European diplomacy he worked for the OSCE.

He holds a PhD in the history of international relations from the University of Florence.

Emanuele Joffre is an Italian.French citizen. His mother tongue is Italian, and he also speaks French, English and Spanish. He is married and has three children.
