Pashinyan could have asked the questions “when we met”. Vardanyan responded to the Prime Minister from Baku prison

Each person judges the actions of others based on his life models and principles, from the Azerbaijani prison, responding to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statements addressed to him, former Minister of State of Artsakh Ruben Vardanyan said.

Vardanyan noted that if Pashinyan had any questions for him, he had the opportunity to correct them in November 2022, during the last meeting, when he was still the state minister.

“In any case, I am ready even now, in the situation of my current opportunities, to answer any of his questions,” said the former Minister of State of Artsakh, continuing. – “I want to remind the Prime Minister that in the spring of 2018, when we met with him for the first time with colleagues, four people, I sincerely presented him with three points, which I kept and will continue to keep. “We and our partners do not want and will not interfere in the politics of Armenia. We engage in charity, regardless of the attitude towards the Armenian authorities, because we do it for the people, and thirdly, the only thing that can change my approach is the fate of Artsakh.”

Emphasizing that the 2020 war and the ongoing threat to Artsakh was a turning point for him, Vardanyan said that since then all his actions were dictated by concern for the fate of Artsakh and its people.

“Now our nation is living through one of the most difficult and difficult periods in its history, but I continue to believe that despite the difficulties and disagreements, we will be able to overcome this stage as well and build a peaceful and bright future,” concluded the former minister of state of Artsakh.

During the press conference in August, Pashinyan, speaking about Vardanyan, said in particular: – “How did it happen that Ruben Vardanyan renounced his Russian citizenship? Who sent him to Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh, for what purpose, with what guarantees, with what promises, and at the end he said: you know what, we are not so good We don’t know who he is, because he seems to be a citizen of another country.”

The former state minister of Artsakh was arrested by Azerbaijani border guards on September 27, 2023 at the Hakari bridge checkpoint, after the Azerbaijani attack on Artsakh and its dissolution. Baku accuses Vardanyan of “funding of terrorism, creation of illegal armed groups and illegal crossing of the Azerbaijani border”.

Ruben Vardanyan announced in September 2022 that he renounces his Russian citizenship and moves to Artsakh. In November 2022, he was appointed Minister of State of Artsakh. He was in charge for only three months, in February 2023 he was relieved of his post.
