General Secretary and President hopes Vietnamese intellectuals in the US will contribute to creating breakthroughs

The General Secretary and President called on Vietnamese intellectuals in the US and around the world to unite and continue contributing towards a new era for the country.

On September 22, General Secretary and President To Lam met in New York with representatives of Vietnamese intellectuals from Houston, Texas. The General Secretary and President affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always consider overseas Vietnamese an inseparable part of the country.

“The world is undergoing many great changes, including geopolitical changes. In that context, Vietnam is also facing many great opportunities to create breakthroughs and rise up. We also need people with a lot of experience, trying their best to help the development and innovation process,” said General Secretary and President To Lam.

The General Secretary and President assessed that the Vietnamese community abroad is growing and making valuable contributions to the development of the United States as well as to the Vietnam-US relationship. He expressed his excitement that the Vietnamese intellectual community abroad is devoting their “talent, enthusiasm and intelligence” to the development of their homeland.

He appreciated the enthusiasm, vision and practical contributions of intellectuals, demonstrating the responsibility of those who always preserve their love for their homeland and country no matter where they live.

The General Secretary and President hopes that Vietnamese intellectuals in the US and around the world will unite and join hands to continue making contributions to the future development, towards a new era for the country.

Representative of the Vietnamese intellectual group in Houston, Mr. Vu Van Le, affirmed that generations of Vietnamese intellectuals have never stopped thinking about Vietnam and always try to contribute their intelligence and enthusiasm to the future of a prosperous Vietnam.

“The 4 million Vietnamese people overseas will never forget the word Vietnam. No matter what nationality you have, you are just a branch or leaf of the nation,” said Mr. Le.

Mr. Vu Van Le emphasized that Vietnamese people in all fields and professions want to contribute practically to the development of domestic fields, helping to bring the country into a new era of development.

He also hopes that the young generation of Vietnamese intellectuals in the US in particular and abroad in general will continue to turn to their homeland and make increasingly practical contributions.

General Secretary and President To Lam is on a working trip to attend the UN General Assembly High-Level Week and work in the US.

On September 22, the General Secretary and President will deliver a speech at the Future Summit. The conference, themed “Multilateral solutions for a better future”, aims to promote the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and climate goals, unify solutions to global challenges, and strengthen global governance.
