Hezbollah and Israel hit back at each other

The Israel Defense Forces reported that more than a hundred rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel last night, and most of them were intercepted. Israel blamed the attacks on the Lebanese Hezbollah group, which has been recognized as a terrorist organization by the United States and several other countries.

Israel’s fire and rescue services are working to extinguish the fires that broke out in the northern regions of the country, three people were injured.

“Hezbollah” reported that the target of the strike was a military factory in the Haifa region.

In addition, last night the group fired rockets at the Ramat David air base in the north of Israel. This is the most distant target Hezbollah has fired inside Israel since the situation escalated in October last year.

  • Hezbollah is a pro-Iranian group that operates separately from the Lebanese authorities.
  • The situation on Israel’s northern border escalated after Hezbollah suffered an unprecedented attack this week in which pagers and walkie-talkies used by members of the militant group exploded. As a result of the explosions, according to the country’s Ministry of Health, 37 people were killed and more than 3,500 people were injured.
Israeli authorities have not officially confirmed participation in the incidents.
  • On September 20, Israeli aviation attacked Beirut. Hezbollah confirmed the death of 16 members of the group, including two commanders.
  • On September 21, Israel introduced a special situation in the north of the country, from Haifa to the border with Lebanon.
