Oršić received Dalić’s invitation and got injured again: ‘We are going through a difficult period and we are not satisfied’

Mislav Oršić (31) scored against Morocco in December 2022 and brought Croatia bronze at the World Championship in Katra, and just a few weeks later he fulfilled his lifelong dream. He went to the Premier League by signing for Southampton. But that’s when his ordeal actually started.

Although the club brought him as a reinforcement in the fight to stay, they cemented him to the bench and completely ignored him. It was not clear to anyone why, but quite often there was no place for the Croatian football player even in the score sheet. And they cashed out six million euros for him. All this shocked him quite a bit. It was a dark period of his career, he was dropped from the national team and he made only one appearance in the Premier League, so he probably regretted leaving Dinamo. In July of last year, he was rescued and went to Trabzonspor with Nenad Bjelica. The smile returned to his face, he enjoyed playing football again, but unfortunately, during the preparations in Slovenia, he injured his knee.

He missed almost the entire season and returned only in the end. Finally, the sun shone again at the beginning of the new year. He caught the rhythm and took a place in the first 11, so he returned to the Croatian national team! However, on the very day when Zlatko Dalić called the “fiery” međ for the first time after a year and a half, new troubles arrived. Oršić got injured and missed Trabzonspor’s match against Gaziantepspor (0-0) on Monday.

– We are going through a difficult period and we are not satisfied with the last matches and results. The problem is that we have a lot of injuries. Stefan Savić He will miss another four to six weeks, and Orši’s injury is not that terrible. We will not have him available this week, and we will see in what condition we will be next week – said coach Senol Gunes.

We missed his quickness and hellish right hand, but it is clear that he will need some time to return to his old form. Due to the lack of right backs, in September we played in a new formation with three stoppers, and we will probably play in such a system in October as well. The former Dynamo player has experience with this type of game, he can cover the position of left wing back as well as right wing back. Anyway, only I can be “fiery” with him.
