From Olympic Shooter to Killer (at the Movies), the Parable of Kim Yeji

South Korean shooter Kim Yeji, who conquered social media with her look at the Paris Olympics, has landed her first acting role: that of an assassin, according to The Guardian. The 32-year-old has won Silver in the women’s 10m air pistol competition last summer, but it was her extremely calm demeanor along with her wire-framed shooting glasses and baseball cap that made her famous.

Videos of her filming went viral and she even received praise from Elon Musk. “She should be cast in an action movie. She doesn’t even have to act,” Musk wrote on X at the time. Now she’ll play an assassin in ‘Crush,’ a mini-series spinoff of the film project ‘Asia?.
