Coca-Cola closes five factories in Germany

Soft drinks manufacturer Coca-Cola wants to close five factories in Germany. This concerns both production and logistics sites. All in all, this would result in the loss of more than 500 jobs.

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, CCEP responsible for bottling and selling the soft drinks in Europe, announced on Tuesday that it would close its sites in Cologne, Neumünster, Berlin, Bielefeld and Memmingen. The restructuring is intended to save on costs in an increasingly competitive environment, it sounds. About 505 jobs will disappear, while another 207 jobs will change locations. At the same time, 78 jobs will be added.

CCEP also has a large presence in Belgium, with three production sites (Ghent, Antwerp and Chaudfontaine) and five distribution centers (Ghent, Antwerp, Heppignies, Borgloon and Chaudfontaine). The head office is located in Anderlecht. The soft drinks giant has around 2,000 employees in Belgium.
