Because Bremer’s injury is a big problem for Juventus

A tile, a blow, a blow from which it will be difficult to recover. Gleison Bremer, Juventus defender, is the first to “can’t find the words” for the results of the tests after the injury suffered in Leipzig, Germany, during the Champions League match won by the Bianconeri 3-2. “Lesion of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee”, we read in the official press release issued by the company today. The translation is very simple: compromised season, already scheduled operation and many months of recovery and rehabilitation. The Brazilian defender’s injury comes at a particular moment in Juventus’ season: the repair market is still very far away and, for a possible replacement, one can only look to the free agent market which offers high caliber names but with dubious reliability.

The internal solution

In this first part of the season, Thiago Motta has used, in addition to Bremer, two other central defenders: Gatti e Kalulu. However, he remained on the sidelines Danilo the fulcrum of the defense of Allegrian memory but slipped to the rear of the hierarchies of the coach who arrived in Turin in the summer. So perhaps he is the right name to patch Juventus’ first real ‘hole’ of the season. Or at least, this is the name that circulates most in fan forums and chats. The other names in the squad are Cabal, Cambiaso, Rouhi, Savona and Puczka. It is difficult to hypothesize their adaptation even if Motta, from the first day, showed a lot of courage in launching very young players who were little known to the general public. A new tactical invention is not a possibility to be quickly dismissed.

After all, it seems that the cohesion of the group, the feeling between the players, is one of the keys to this small Juventus rebirth with the new technical guide, capable of bringing enthusiasm back to an environment that has taken very little satisfaction away in recent seasons. Messages of solidarity also arrived from other teams. Torino, for example, which launched Bremer into great football, immediately wished a speedy recovery to the former protégé who moved to their city rivals in 2022. Even Inter, bitter rivals for the Scudetto, wanted to send a message of comfort faced with the gravity of the situation.

The ‘free’ players

There are basically three names circulating, all very suggestive.
