Zé Gabriel, from Coritiba, will undergo tests after a night in hospital

Coritiba reported, this Saturday morning, that the steering wheel Zé Gabriel spent the night in a hospital in Belo Horizonte and will undergo further tests. Coxa also informs that the player is well and stable.

“The athlete Zé Gabriel spent the night under observation in the hospital and will undergo further tests in the morning. He is well and stable”, says the official statement from Coxa.

After Alviverde’s defeat to América-MG, last Friday night (5), Zé Gabriel had to leave the field in an ambulance. He felt ill after the final whistle, fell to the ground and needed to be attended to by the medical team.

Shortly after the incident, Coritiba had already issued a bulletin about the athlete’s health status. According to the club, the player suffered from exhaustion at the end of the game, but remained stable. Still, he was taken to the hospital to undergo tests.

“Zé Gabriel felt unwell with exhaustion. He was treated and taken to the hospital. He was stable at all times. He will undergo tests to rule out any other problem”, informed the Alviverde press office.

The midfielder is 25 years old and is on loan to Coritiba at the end of Series B, alongside Vasco. The athlete has 10 games and one goal with the white shirt.

O Coritiba had a very bad result against América-MG, Friday (4), at Arena Independência, in the 30th round of Series B.

After the game, visibly upset by the setback, the defender vented and said he would “exchange the goal for victory”. Still, the full-back said that the squad will fight as long as there is a chance.

“I’m happy to have scored the goal, but I would trade the goal for the victory. We had a good first half, we had the opportunity to kill the game and we didn’t. And the second half was completely different, thanks to them, but we also came in completely different. They were superior, they had the opportunity and they killed the game”, said Natanael, in an interview with Premiere.
