Luna Rossa’s dream fades, Ineos Britannia wins the Vuitton Cup

Ineos Britannia beats Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli and wins the Louis Vuitton Cup. The British won the eleventh regatta, taking a 7-4 lead in the series, and regaining the America’s Cup final after 60 years. Thanks to the maneuvers of the skipper, four-time Olympic champion, Ben Ainslie, Ineos Britannia won the first of the two races held today, obtaining the point that was missing to close the series against the Italian boat.

This victory leads the British crew to face the New Zealand team, two reigning champions, in the final of the 37th America’s Cup, scheduled for October 12th in the Bay of Barcelona. Great Britain has never won this competition, the oldest in the world, founded in 1851.
