Bizarreness in BiH: Local elections in the municipality of Trnovo are led by a man who is in custody

Local elections were scheduled for Sunday in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Unlike some other places, in the municipality of Trnovo it was not too tense because according to the first data, the current mayor Ibro Berilo and the SDA candidate is in a convincing lead.

He collected 215, while the second-placed Bajre Lindova from the SDP has 66. In other words, Ibro ran the election campaign from detention, where he is being held for abuse of position.

Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina opened at 7:00 a.m., and these are the eighth elections in a row since the signing of the Dayton Agreement. Just over 3.4 million registered voters had the right to vote.

Voters were able to elect 3,200 city and municipal councilors and 143 mayors or heads of municipalities, for which more than 29,000 candidates competed, as many as are on various electoral lists.
