Aruba, the first 300 million Hyper cloud data center in Rome

Inaugurated at the Tecnopolo Tiburtino in Rome, the Hyper Cloud Data Center, the new data center campus of Aruba. With this new center, the main Italian provider of cloud services, data centers, hosting, e-mail, domain registration and certified electronic mail (PEC) strengthens its national infrastructure and strengthens its strategic presence in Italy. The campus will also represent a driving force for the development of the capital as a strategic digital hub.

The Tiburtino Tecnopolo is already home to over 150 innovative companies. Overall, the campus will extend over an area of ​​74,000 m2, with 52,000 m2 of surface area dedicated to data centers, of which over 30,000 dedicated to data rooms. The first data center, which extends over three floors in a surface area of ​​10 thousand m2, is already officially active, while the second is already nearing completion and will be activated by the first half of 2025. To create the entire campus, over 300 million euros of investments are expected.

Aruba: with the new data center the Rome campus is a strategic hub for services

At full capacity, the new Aruba data center campus will include 5 independent data centers for a total of 30 MW of IT power. The campus has all it takes to host the data, infrastructures and systems of companies of all sizes, from hyperscalers to public administration, as well as large international players. This new infrastructure adds to the network of data centers owned by the Aruba group, which includes the Global Cloud Data Center in Ponte San Pietro (BG) and the two data centers in Arezzo.

As with Aruba’s other data centers, this new asset is also in line with the group’s carrier neutral philosophy, as it is not owned or operated by a single specific telecommunications operator. This approach is designed to allow customers to benefit, in maximum autonomy, from extremely reliable and high-performance Internet connection solutions, and to encourage the development of interconnections for the benefit of the entire ecosystem, placing Rome as a further connectivity hub and IT and cloud service delivery center in the country.

Designed and built in-house by Aruba’s team of experts, the Hyper Cloud Data Center offers customized, highly efficient colocation solutions. Not only that, Aruba Enterprise services are also provided through the Rome data center, including Trust, Cloud and Managed ones, guaranteeing operational continuity and disaster recovery and business continuity solutions. The Rome data center, in addition to having received the ANSI/TIA-942-C Rating 4 Constructed Facility certification, follows Aruba’s “green-by-design” approach. The maximum efficiency of the infrastructural assets, studied from the first design phase of each data center, is accompanied by the commitment to guarantee maximum reliability, safety and performance, with the presence of photovoltaic systems and high-efficiency cooling systems.

“With the activation of the Hyper Cloud Data Center in Rome, we can significantly increase the space and power capacity available to our customers, responding to the rapid growth in consumption expected from the development of the cloud and technologies such as artificial intelligence”, explained Aruba CEO Stefano Cecconi.
