Renaudot Prize, Interallié Prize and Jean-Giono Prize: the second selections revealed

The different juries met to refine the lists of books in competition. The last selections will take place between October 24 and November 7.

Renaudot

The Renaudot Prize jury met at the Hôtel de Massa, headquarters of the Société des gens de lettres, under the presidency of JMG Le Clézio, and established their second, narrower selections. As a reminder, the winner of the 2023 edition (novel category) was Ann Scott, awarded for The Insolents. Unsurprisingly, we find there in particular Kamel Daoud, Gaël Faye and Philippe Jaenada, still on the list for the Goncourt prize (2e selection).

The third final lists will be established on Thursday October 24, the proclamation (novels, essays and paperback categories) will take place on Monday November 4, at Drouant, according to custom, with the Prix Goncourt.

Jean-Giono

The Jean-Giono Prize jury, created in 1990, met at Drouant to unveil its second selection, made up of eight titles. Among them, The Jaguar Dream by Miguel Bonnefoy (Rivages), already present on the second list of the Femina Prize, on the first list of the Medici, as well as on the first selection of the Grand Prix du roman of the French Academy, just like Thibault de Montaigu (Heart). For the record, the previous winner was Gaspard Koenig, awarded for his novel Humus (The Observatory).

The third and final selection will be announced on Thursday, November 7. The Prize presentation will take place at Drouant on November 14.

Interallied

The jury of the Interallié 2024 prize revealed its 2e selection, composed of eight novels. Among the authors selected, some are also in the running for other major prizes such as Kamel Daoud with Hourisat Gallimard (Goncourt, Renaudot) or Delphine Minoui with Badjenspresent on the first list of the Grand Prix du roman of the French Academy. We will also note the presence of Pierre Adrian (Hotel Roma), still in the running for the Renaudot (essay category) and the Femina (novel category).

The next stage will take place on Thursday November 7 for a final selection. The final proclamation will be unveiled on Wednesday November 13 at the Lasserre restaurant in the VIIIe Parisian district. The winner will succeed Humusby Gaspard Koenig (publishing of the Observatory).
