After a turnaround, Vekić won the second round of the Masters in Wuhan

The best Croatian tennis player Donna Vekić advanced to the 2nd round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Wuhan, she overcame the Belgian with a turnaround 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 Elise Mertens.

In the first set according to Vekić was fatal was a bad service game, the 28-year-old Osje lost three out of four games on her opening shot. Mertens made the first “break” for 2-0 leaving Vekić to 0, but our player retaliated by winning two games in a row for 2-2 and had as many as five “break-balls” to take the lead. Vekić then won three games in a row, two of them on her opponent’s serve, and reached a winning position. She failed to close the match on her opening shot, but at 5-3 she once again took away Mertens’ serve without losing a point.
