Paranair negotiates new flights between Córdoba and Mendoza with Paraguayan planes and crews

On February 12 there will begin to be two weekly flights between Asunción and the city of Salta of the Paraguayan airline Paranair which will be added to two other frequencies per week from the same company, between Asunción and San Salvador de Jujuy, starting in November.

In a matter of weeks, this airline from Canadian and Spanish capitals will connect the capital of Paraguay with four destinations in Argentina since it is currently flying towards Aeroparque and Córdoba.

Today it covers both these destinations and other international routes to Montevideo and Santa Cruz de la Sierra with a fleet of only three 50-seat Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft.

“We have a fourth plane on the way, a CRJ-1000, with 100 seats, so for some time our fleet will become four planes and that will allow us to cover the new routes,” he told Clarín. Paranair is a continuation of Amazonas Paraguay and belongs to two partners, the Canadian group Avmax (66%) and the Spanish ILAI-Air Nostrum (33%)where Cassola comes from. “There were disagreements with the Amaszonas partners at the time and in 2019 it was decided to continue with the current partners and a new fleet, but the air operator certificate with which Paranair operates today is the same as that of Amaszonas and has been valid for ten years. years,” said Cassola, Spanish and from ILAI.

One of the characteristics of this airline is that its routes are all international, it does not have cabotage services within Paraguay. But it is in talks to explore cabotage routes within Argentinalike flights between Córdoba and Mendozafor next year.

“It is something that we are talking about with the authorities not only in Mendoza, but also in Rosario, and we notice a lot of enthusiasm. Since Paraguay does not have an important domestic market, our option is to go out and make flights abroad and in that sense the agreement that was signed between Argentina and Paraguay opens up possibilities for us,” added Cassola.

In the case of the two new routes to Jujuy and Salta, Paranair will offer passengers boarding from Argentina both the possibility of direct flights to Asunción and connections to Europe and the United States without passing through Buenos Aires. Paranair has codeshare agreements with three of the international airlines that land in Asunción (LATAM, Air Europa and Iberia), with which passengers will have the option of checking in their luggage in Salta or Jujuy and collecting it directly in Madrid or Miami. among other destinations.

The flights between Asunción and Jujuy will begin on Sunday, November 3, after an agreement signed by the airline with Governor Carlos Sadir and the modality will be an intercontinental flight, with the possibility of a hold luggage clearance of up to 23 kilos and hand luggage of up to 5 kilos.
