Taylor Swift overtakes Rihanna to become richest singer in the world

Taylor Swift continues to gain popularity. The thirty-year-old has just reached a new milestone, she is now the richest artist in the world, according to Forbes magazine. Her fortune is said to be over $1.6 billion, surpassing another famous American singer, Rihanna. Until now, the Diamonds singer had a fortune estimated at $1.4 billion, according to Forbes.

Taylor Swift’s celebrity rating took a new turn in 2023, during her world tour, titled «The Eras Tour». With concert tickets sold out in just a few minutes, the singer’s success has allowed her to exceed $1 billion in revenue, according to Pollstara trade publication specializing in the music industry. Note that Taylor Swift is the only American singer who has managed to cross this threshold. She thus surpasses Elton John and his farewell tour Farewell Yellow Brick Roadwhich had reached $939 million in revenue, with five times as many dates as Taylor Swift.

The artist is still far from being forgotten with a tour which must end next December, after 152 concerts. In order to ride the wave, Taylor Swift also produced a film of her famous tour, screened in cinemas around the world. In its first weekend in the United States, the film grossed $92.8 million, according to Forbes.
