Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Naim Kassem delivered a speech marking the first anniversary of Hamas’s attack on Israel and the Lebanese terrorist group joining the hostilities.
He paid tribute to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, saying that he instilled terror in the Zionists. “His strength continues to inspire us today,” he stressed, adding that attempts by the Zionists and the United States to intimidate the resistance will fail.
He called the Hamas attack on Israel the first step towards freedom for the Palestinian people. Kassem accused Israel of killing women, the elderly and children, but stressed that no matter what sacrifices are required, the Palestinians and the resistance forces will prevail.
“Israel has proven that it is a threat to the entire region,” the terrorist leader said, accusing the United States of facilitating Israeli “crimes.” Without American support, he said, Israel would have been defeated within a month.
According to him, the Israeli strikes did not cause significant damage to Hezbollah’s military potential. He accused Israel of intending to kill the inhabitants of southern Lebanon, and also said that Iran would support the resistance as it sees fit.
