The IDF is against the intervention of the Ministry of Finance in the salaries of military personnel

The head of the personnel department of the IDF General Staff, Brigadier General Yoram Knafo, sent a letter to the military personnel in which he opposed the ministry’s initiative to make changes to the salary structure of officers and warrant officers serving in non-combat units.

According to Knafo, the initiative of the Ministry of Finance was not agreed upon with the Ministry of Defense and the IDF command, and “the personnel department is doing everything to remove it from the agenda.”

We are talking about an initiative to create a clear differentiation between the benefits and bonuses received by officers and warrant officers of combat units and those who serve in rear units.
