Kenyan track and field champion found dead

Kenyan middle distance runner Clement Kemboi has been found dead.

According to police in Kenya’s Elgeyo-Marakweti province, Kemboi was found hanging from a tree near a local school. The right leg of the body was mauled by stray dogs.

The police took the dead runner to the Iteni village mortuary to await the investigation of the cause of death.

Kemboin the highlight of his athletics career was the 2015 African Championship in the 3000m steeplechase.

Deaths have rocked Kenyan athletics in recent times. Marathon runner last Friday Samson Kandie died in hospital from injuries he received after criminals attacked his home.

Middle distance runner on Sunday Kipyegon bed passed away at only 26 years old as a result of liver and kidney problems.

At the beginning of September, the sports world was shocked by a marathon runner Rebecca Cheptegein arson. Cheptegei was a Ugandan citizen but was killed in Kenya by her ex-boyfriend. In February, on the other hand, the holder of the men’s marathon world record Kelvin Kiptum died in a car accident.
