End of career of tennis professional Rafael Nadal: One of the greatest lets go

Bull of Manacor, clay court king, eternal fighter, so many descriptions sound trite and yet are true: Rafael Nadal, one of the most successful players in tennis history, is ending his career at the age of 38.

The news that so many tennis fans had feared arrived on October 10, 2024 at 11:21 a.m. Benito Perez-Barbadillo, the gentlemanly dressed PR manager who has spent almost his entire life working exclusively for this one exceptional athlete, immediately got to the point: “Dear friend,” he began the press release, “the moment has come.. “After so much speculation, the real moment is here.” He then referred to an attached video, which was soon published online. Less than 25 minutes later, a million people had already viewed it. That’s what happens when the greats of their sport, indeed of global sport, quit.
