In a press release this Friday evening, the French Fencing Federation (FFE) indicated that representatives of affiliated clubs proceeded with the election of the federation’s Steering Committee on Wednesday October 9. Two candidate lists for the presidency were carried, on one side by Rémy Delhomme, and on the other by Timothé Boudhil. The first list came first during the general assembly this Friday with 64.42% of the votes.
“I would like to warmly thank all the club presidents, fencing masters and referees for their commitment during the elections of October 9, demonstrating their desire to influence the future of our Federation,” declared Rémi Delhomme. I express all my gratitude to those who elected me president for the next Olympiad, their confidence commits me to all the licensees. The Steering Committee and I make it our priority to restore serenity in the management of our Federation and restore confidence to all those involved in our sport. Our actions will be guided by the 7 letters of the word ESCRIME: Exemplarity, Stability, Skills, Realism, Innovation, Pooling, Listening. »
The latter also gave the broad outlines of his action for the upcoming Olympiad: “We met all the stakeholders of our sport, collecting their concerns regarding the training of Fencing Masters, support and recognition of the work Clubs, and we are committed to responding to them. Fencing, in all its forms, must unify without opposing and promote each discipline, each practice. While we face increasing competition, in an uncertain financial context, it is nevertheless crucial to launch an ambitious project for the future of our sport. I therefore hope that we overcome the divisions and join forces for the success of French fencing, on our territory and internationally. »
