Bolzano is preparing to welcome Game Ground again, the festival dedicated to gaming culture which, now in its fourth edition, will liven up the city from 18 to 20 October. After the opening of the exhibitions on 12 October, the festival comes to life with a program full of events that will transform Bolzano into a stage for gaming, pop culture and technology enthusiasts. We start on Wednesday 16 October at Parkhotel Laurin with a panel dedicated to competitive gaming and the journey of three people from Bolzano who have distinguished themselves on the international e-sports scene: Stefano Tabarelli, Alex Stan and Marco Olivari. On Thursday 17 October, however, the first Italian tournament will be held at DRIN with the brand new Super Mario Party Jamboree, coinciding with its official release.
From Friday 18 October, Castel Mareccio will become the beating heart of the festival, hosting a 48h Game Jam, a Stunt Show inspired by “Prince of Persia” and an 80s-90s videogame themed Glow Party DJ Set. At Palazzo Mercantile, however, conferences will be held on current issues such as violence in video games and the role of narrative in “Horizon Zero Dawn”. On Saturday 19 October, Castel Mareccio will host a series of panels, including “Fallout and American nightmares” and “China and Japan in video games”, and gameplay sessions that will culminate with a talk with streamer Dario Moccia. The festival will end on Sunday 20 October with panels dedicated to the development studios 11Bit Studios and Stormind Games and the opportunity to meet live celebrities from the gaming world such as Favij and Sabaku No Maiku.
