The K-pop star opened up about the workplace harassment she experienced – “Ignore her like you haven’t seen her”

Accusations of improper treatment began when the record company fired the producer behind the popularity of the band Newjeans.

In Korean performing under the stage name Hanni in the pop band Newjeans Pham Ngoc Han has told about the workplace harassment he encountered, news BBC.

The singer gave a statement, according to which the Hybe entertainment company has deliberately made the band’s activities difficult. He also accused the band’s senior leaders of willful indifference towards him.

Hanni made his statement after the band went public with their treatment. Producer Hee-jin’s mind had previously been separated from Ador, which is a subsidiary of Hybe.

The producer is one of the founders of the Ador record company and has played a central role behind the success of NewJeans. Min was fired from his position at Ador after it was suspected that he was planning to leave the company and take the pop group with him. Min has denied the allegations.

NewJeans decided to take a stand on the situation by uploading a video to YouTube, in which it demanded Mini’s return to duty. In the same video, the band talked about the workplace harassment they experienced.

Hanni had said, among other things, that when greeting the members of another band at the record company’s premises, the manager had instructed them to ignore him. When the singer had reported what had happened, his experience had been downplayed.

“Ignore him as if you haven’t seen him,” Hanni claimed the Manager said.

According to the singer, the directors of the company never greeted him, although he greeted them. According to Hanni’s claims, the company’s employees had also spoken badly about the pop band in the chat service used by the workplace, and Hybe’s PR department had contacted the journalist and asked him to downplay the band’s achievements in an article about record sales.

Hybe has previously denied the charges. The CEO of the record company Ador stated at the hearing that he thought about if he could have done something to prevent the events.
