Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Araghchi arrived on a visit to Amman. As noted by the IRNA agency, Jordan became the seventh country visited by the politician recently. The tour program also includes Egypt and Türkiye.
According to the department’s press service, the purpose of consultations with countries in the region is to stabilize the situation in the Middle East and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. “Special attention will be paid to Zionist crimes in Gaza and Lebanon,” IRNA reports.
Araghchi also held telephone conversations with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. He said that Iran is ready to fight back against the Israeli strike and called for an end to the “aggression” in Lebanon and Gaza.
