The renovation bonus remains at 50% but not for all houses, what changes

The renovation bonus will remain at 50% – without going down as it seemed -, but will only affect first homes. And the spending ceiling increases to 96 thousand euros. It is one of the innovations contained in the 30 billion maneuver approved yesterday by the Council of Ministers, and among the most awaited for those who have decided to start their own home.

As La Stampa reconstructs, the bonus was destined to fall to 36% in 2025 and with a ceiling cut. As a result of the Superbonus Decree, the bonus had been cut to 36% (from 2025 to 2027) and 30% (from 2028 to 2033). Until December 31, 2024,il restructuring bonus had a rate of 50% and a spending ceiling of 96 thousand euros. Starting from 2025, the spending ceiling on which to calculate the deduction was to be equal to 48 thousand euros per real estate unit. Now, with the maneuver it has been decided that, from 2025, the deduction will be confirmed at the current level of 50% but will only be provided for the main residence.

As regards second homes, the deductions will be 36%, with a spending ceiling of 48 thousand euros. Electrical systems, demolition of walls, renovation of bathrooms: from next year these expenses, among the most common in the case of renovations, will be facilitated differently depending on the property.
