Last year’s finalist Medvedev is not coming to Vienna

After defending champions Jannik Sinner who only appeared again at the last ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the year in Paris-Bercy, falls at the 50th anniversary edition First Bank Open in Wien also last year’s finalist.

Daniil Medvedev had to withdraw from the town hall on Thursday evening due to a persistent shoulder injury.

This means there are still three top ten players in Vienna

“I have a lot of positive memories with the tournament. So it’s a shame that I can’t compete, but I will definitely play in Vienna again next year,” said Medvedev, the 2022 Vienna winner.

With the top seed Alexander Zverev (GER/ATP-3.), who already completed his first training sessions in Vienna on Thursday, Alex de Minaur (OFF/9.) and Grigor Dimitrow (BUL/10.) there are still three top ten players at the start.
