WizzAir has canceled flights to Israel until mid-January 2025

Hungarian budget airline WizzAir announced on Tuesday, October 15, that it is canceling flights to Israel until mid-January 2025. According to Globes, WizzAir accounts for 5.87% of all passengers passing through Ben Gurion Airport.

On October 9, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) lifted the ban on flights to Israel, which was issued after the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut. Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev says the cancellation was a result of her trip to Hungary in September. She also expressed confidence that this EASA decision will lead to the return of European airlines to Israel, which, in turn, will have a positive impact on the cost of air tickets.
