“The first step towards world war” – Zelenskyi warns of North Korean soldiers joining the war in Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi participated in the European Union Summit in Brussels on Thursday.

Zelenskyi presented his so-called victory plan to the leaders of the EU countries.

The victory plan has a lot of Ukraine’s long-term hopes. Ukraine wants to be invited to join NATO, it wants to be allowed to use the allies’ long-range weapons in Russia, and it wants a strategic deterrent package placed on Ukrainian soil.

Zelenskyi stated that the invitation to NATO membership would be important for the fighting morale of the Ukrainian people.

“Weapons are important, but the most powerful weapon is our people. If we get a signal that we will get into NATO, we can feel that we are not alone.”

Zelenskyi said that he had a constructive conversation with EU leaders. 18 managers took the floor, and the majority of them spoke positively about the winning plan.

He was asked separately if he discussed the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbánin with. Hungary has been a brake in many decisions regarding EU aid to Ukraine.

“I met him at the same table with other managers. We greeted each other. That is already a good thing,” Zelenskyi stated.

Will North Korea join the war?

In recent days, Ukrainian military sources have said, among other things BBC:lle and Politicollethat North Korea has sent three thousand soldiers to Russia to participate in the war in Ukraine.

Zelenskyi stated on Thursday that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, North Korea was preparing to send 10,000 soldiers to fight Ukrainian forces.

Putin is afraid of putting forward a new movement because public opinion is against it. That’s why he’s trying to get other actors to participate in the war.”

“This is the first step towards world war.”

Zelenskyi stated that, for example, Iran has supplied Russia with airplanes and missiles, but not officially soldiers.

Secretary General of NATO Mark Rutte said on Wednesday that he could not at this stage confirm reports that North Korean troops were participating in the fighting in Ukraine.
