Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has ordered his ministry to initiate legal proceedings against French President Emmanuel Macron after Paris banned Israeli companies from participating in an upcoming maritime exhibition.
The decision to ban Israeli companies is the latest in a series of incidents that Macron’s government is targeting Israel over concerns about the wars in Gaza and Lebanon, Reuters reported.
Euronaval, the organizer of the Nov. 4-7 event in Paris, said in a statement last week that the French government had informed Israeli delegations that they were not allowed to have booths or display equipment, but could attend the exhibition. The decision affected seven companies.
“I have instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take legal and diplomatic action against the French President’s decision to prevent Israeli companies from exhibiting their products at SalonEuronaval in Paris next month,” Katz said in a statement on social media platform X.
