Being fired in October, when the season is only two months old, is by no means the worst level of humiliation at VfL Bochum. In 2022, the then coach Thomas Reis was fired in September, and in 2019 Robin Dutt was fired in August. It was just “hire and fire,” Dutt had complained at the time, and it no longer had anything to do with “fact-oriented action.” And things haven’t gotten any better at VfL in this regard since then.
