Stuttgart’s Nübel warns about Juventus star Vlahovic

Goalkeeper Alexander Nübel from VfB Stuttgart treats star striker Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus Turin with great respect. “He’s a buffalo,” said the 28-year-old before the Swabian Bundesliga club’s away game in the league phase of the Champions League on Tuesday (9 p.m./DAZN). The Stuttgart keeper is particularly impressed by the overall package that the Serbian international striker has to offer.

Vlahovic is physically present, has speed and good technique, said Nübel. The 1.90 meter man is a “very, very good striker” and scores goals and dangerous free kicks. The VfB goalkeeper, who recently made his debut in the German national team, explained that he would “look at it more specifically” in preparation for the game.

Already seven goals and one assist

Vlahovic has scored seven goals and assisted one in the first ten competitive games of the season for Juve. He scored a brace in the 3-2 win in the Champions League at RB Leipzig three weeks ago. The 24-year-old is the Bianconeri’s great offensive hope.

Another trump card of the Italian record champions is defense. In the league, under new coach Thiago Motta, Juve only conceded one goal in the first eight matchdays – and that was from a penalty. You can therefore not assume that you will get “an abundance of chances,” said Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß.
