The 16th BRICS summit is starting today in Kazan.

Official Yerevan announced that it will participate in the summit at the level of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Russian Ambassador to Yerevan Sergey Kopirkin said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Nikol Pashinyan will have the opportunity to communicate within the framework of the BRICS summit.

According to the Russian state agency TASS, during the summit, the most acute crises of the planet, current issues of the global and regional agenda, problems in politics and security, economy and finance, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as the inclusion of new states in the work of BRICS will be discussed.

The group of five countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) led by China and Russia has started the process of expansion.

In September, Pashinyan announced that Armenia does not intend to integrate into BRICS.

It is expected that a total of 36 countries and 6 international organizations will participate in this summit, as well as UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

“The organization has stable and reliable prospects,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said before the summit, stressing: – “We really have common values, an idea of ​​how to build relationships with each other.”

Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the Russian president, said that Putin’s agenda is tight, about 15 bilateral meetings are planned.

The events will kick off this evening at the Kazan City Hall with a friendly dinner.
