Hezbollah claims responsibility for attack on Netanyahu’s residence

The Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah has claimed responsibility this Tuesday for the drone attack carried out last Saturday against the private residence of the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, in the town of Caesarea, located in the center of the country.

Hezbollah has now acknowledged “its total and exclusive responsibility in the operation against Caesarea and in the attack on the house of the war criminal and leader of the Zionist scourge”, in reference to Netanyahu, according to information collected by the newspaper ‘L’Orient-Le Jour’.

Hezbollah spokesman Mohamad Afif Nabulsi has threatened Netanyahu, pointing out that “the eyes of the resistance fighters see, and their ears hear,” adding that the militia’s “hands” have not managed to catch him “this time.” but that between the militia and the Israeli leader “there are days, nights and terrain” ahead.

That attack left no injuries or fatalities, and the Israeli authorities quickly attributed it to “agents of Iran” as a gesture in retaliation for the death of the leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Yahya Sinwar.

The Israeli authorities have now allowed the publication of information about what happened, and the newspaper ‘The Times of Israel’ reports that the drone attack caused damage to Netanyahu’s home and has published an image of the area where the drone hit the facade. Neither the president nor his wife were in the house.

Hezbollah has had to suspend Afif’s press conference in the Dahieh neighborhood in southern Beirut after the Israeli Army issued an evacuation order for residents of the area. Videos posted on social networks show the moment when journalists remove the microphones from the table and Afif hastily gets up.

Beyond this, the Hezbollah spokesperson took advantage of his appearance to emphasize that the militia “is fine and its lines of support have returned to what they were”, at the same time that he has stressed that “the daily rhythm of attacks and operations against the Zionist enemy is constantly increasing.”

“The enemy continues with its crazy bombings of cities and towns, and all its pretexts have fallen, and its crazy bombings have no other justification than the desire for more killing and destruction,” added Afif, who insisted that the United States is a “full partner in the aggression against Lebanon and its people.”

For Afif, the US government is the one that supplies weapons to Israel and, therefore, “is primarily responsible for the atrocious massacres.”
