Little do you have Brics: "The Middle East is on the brink of all-out war"

The situation in the Middle East is drastically worsened and puts the region on the brink of all-out war. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this in his speech on the last day of the Brics summit in Kazan. “The hostilities, which began in Gaza a year ago, have spilled into Lebanon and affected other countries in the region, while the conflict between Israel and Iran has increased dramatically. All this resembles a chain reaction and puts the entire Middle East on the brink of all-out war,” Putin said. “Correcting the historical injustice against the Palestinian people can ensure peace in the Middle East. The vicious cycle of violence will not be broken until this problem is resolved.”

“People – continued the Russian president – will continue to live in an atmosphere of permanent crisis with inevitable relapses of mass violence. A fundamental requirement for the restoration of peace and stability on the Palestinian lands is the two-state formula approved by the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the General Assembly,” he added. “In fact – admitted the leader of Moscow – Russia has many problems, very important and acute, which we must resolve, which we are doing and will continue to do. At the same time, we have always tried to make an important contribution to the stabilization in Middle East”, he underlined. “Russia, together with other BRICS members and partners, has actively joined the settlement process from the beginning,” Putin said. “Obviously – he concluded – the launch of a complete political process aimed at resolving the problem of the Middle East is an immediate task”.
